PRESS: Internet provider Akado to enter mobile connection market
MOSCOW, Aug 16 (PRIME) -- Russian Internet provider Akado, controlled by units of businessman Viktor Vekselberg, will enter the mobile connection market as a virtual operator working on networks of mobile carrier T2 RTK Holding, working as Tele2, business daily Kommersant reported on Thursday.
Group of companies Akado President Sergei Nazarov said Akado will start providing services of mobile connection under its own brand by the end of 2018. Tariffs could be unveiled in September, and services will be offered to existing clients of Akado, including households and firms.
The move is a tool to keep and improve the quality of the subscriber base. “We see that the subscribers receiving a complex of high-quality services, like television, the Internet, and mobile connection, are less inclined to flow away,” Nazarov said.
Akado will test services of the virtual operator and plans to subscribe several thousands of clients in 2019.
In Moscow, Akado is one of the three top operators that services about 670,000 fixed-line Internet subscribers.
